Signing within your budget
Who gives you the most for what you can spend, and who plays most like the player you're losing.
For Clubs
A lot of football decisions still come down to gut feel: who to sign, which trialists to keep, whether a bad run is bad luck. I've spent 35+ years building models for banks, insurers, manufacturers and retailers, and this site shows the same methods working on football. If you're involved with a club, whatever the league, I'd like to help, and it won't cost the club anything.

Who gives you the most for what you can spend, and who plays most like the player you're losing.
Why picking the best few can fool you about what matters, and how to judge trialists fairly.
How far below expectations a run has to go before it means something, and how often it happens by luck alone.
Who marks whom at corners, worked out rather than guessed.
Spreading minutes across a busy run of fixtures without losing the games that matter.
What each run opens and closes, and when a pass is really on.
Or anything else your club is wondering about.
Results, line-ups, who played how many minutes, and a phone video of your set pieces are enough to start. If it's in a spreadsheet or a notebook, I can work with it.
I've spent my working life answering questions for businesses that could afford to ask them. Most football clubs can't, and that bothers me. So ask me whatever's on your mind. I'll explain what I find in plain English, and you keep whatever I build.
All I'd ask is to write some of it up here, so other clubs can learn from it too. Your club's name stays out of it if you'd rather, and nothing goes up without your OK.
